I am having same problem as well. I have been searching to net for hours on this issue. I just got Apache, PHP setup and am using the default MySQL package installs for Redhat ES4.
We need a solution to this problem.
It seems to be that MySQL is not seeing the correct host or hostname is incorrect. I have played with the /etc/hosts file a little, but nothing I do changes anything. But, if I change the hostname in config-inc.php for phpmyadmin, I get a different error.
Like this...
I get this error if I use 'localhost' in the config file as the hostname or IP
#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured) |
